OPORTO, 2012

A housing building characteristic of the end of the XIX Century, with a ground-floor typology. The intervention to which it was subject was meant to restore it so that it could become liveable, accommodating a one-family housing programme.
The intervention was geared towards upgrading the building’s intrinsic architectural qualities and characteristics, making them a stimulus for the qualification of the unit’s interior spaces. The care put into the details, the selection of the materials and finishings, as well as the description and sobriety of the houses functional infrastructure solutions, characterize an intervention in which the levels of safety and comfort required are in harmony with the pre-existing spatial characteristics and qualities.
